Subscribe? RSS? Huh?
What is RSS?
As described by Wikipedia: RSS is a family of web feed formats used to publish frequently updated content such as blog entries, news headlines or podcasts. An RSS document, which is called a "feed," "web feed," or "channel," contains either a summary of content from an associated web site or the full text. RSS makes it possible for people to keep up with their favorite web sites in an automated manner that's easier than checking them manually.
What's the big deal?
Get your news first! The big advantage of RSS subscribing is that you can get notices of news any way you like. Windows Vista actually has an RSS subscription system already built in. Just click the big RSS logo above and tell Vista you want to subscribe. You can even adjust the frequency of how often you get updates by right clicking the subscription and selecting properties.
Will I get spam?
Absolutely not!Shacknews LTD has been around for well over a decade and we have absolutely never sold any of our user contact information. We HATE spam. The absolute only thing you will get from subscribing to a RSS feed on Shacknews is timely updates about your favorite games and consoles.
Can I customize my updates for my favorite game?
Not quite yetThis is a planned future feature of FileShack. Keep an eye on us in the coming months as we intend to fully embrace the world of RSS.
