Version 1.9 of the Deathball mod for Unreal Tournament 2003. DeathBall turns UT2003 into a mix of Football, American Football, Basketball, Icehockey and Tennis.

Deathball:
Gameplay:
-No more pass lock on players that are being boosted (by enemy and friend) to remove the "broomstick" move
-Deflection: teammates always catch it; deflect power reduced to 70%
-Fixed: Keeper got his multijumps removed when he tried to dodge in midair
-Selfvolley power reduced to 1500 max (this only works with more than 6 players! with less players it's just like before: means no reduced self volley power)

Tennis:
- Real Tennis scoring, 0, 15, 30, 40, deuce, game, set, match.
- Tourney Mode, lots of players on a server, only 2 players playing, rest is in line waiting for their turn to play. winner stays, loser goes back in line, next player in line plays.
- Tourney Mode - Taunts, you can have 5 custom taunts that will show on the scoreboard when you are playing. Go to the settings to configure them.
- Tourney Mode - Reset timer, when the ball doesn't get hit within 30 seconds, next round starts.
- Smash announcer.
- Kinda new scoreboard.
- New stats.
- Hit sound only occurs when the ball is hit.
- Players aren't blocked anymore when the server releases the ball, not when the ball crosses the net.
- Boosting Weakened.
- Map updated.
- Fixed the bug that if you shoot the ball out of the stadium you score.
- Speed-o-meter works 100% now.
- Deadly Ball is enabled by default.
- Anti server idle protection, when the server holds the ball for 30 seconds it resets.

Fixed uninstall bug!
Gameplay:
-Crouching debugged and back
-Cannot catch ball in 0.2s after it was released (except keeper). Ball bounces off instead.

You need to change your shortcut to: x:\yourUT2003folder\System\UT2003.exe -ini=deathball.ini

Added new Deathball-Tennis mode, check it out! (Select it in the game mode drop down menu)
Now the normal Deathball Changes:
Gameplay:
-New weapon added, time after catching until you can shoot from 0.25s down to 0.1s.
-Increase friendly boost range to 250uu (from 200), so you don't have to be too close to friends to boost.
-Sprint is now client side. So when you release sprint you can jump immediately without waiting for your ping. Sprint code completely redone.
-Self Volley Latency from 0s to 1s (this prevents what you all call "n00b cannon").
-FriendlyVolleyPower, DeadVolleyPower & EnemyVolleyPower in enemy half: all 3 from 2000 down to 1800
-Volleypower now depending on your ground speed. So when you are running towards the ball and volley it, your speed will be added to the volley (so with sprint you get up to 2400, with normal run speed up to ~2200, but in a serious match you will hardly be able to pull these off, so most will be 1800, so this makes spamming more skill based).
-KeeperVolleyLatency from 0.6s down to 0.53s
-Fixed: Running over the ball with held alt fire button, you went throught it.
-Keeper has 4 jumps again.
-Keeper can only perform one multijump after dodging.
-Now you have 4 jumps after leaving keeper (it was 2 before due to a bug).
-Now you have 4 jumps after spawning, you only had 2 due to a UT2k3 bug which was annoying when someone boosted you and you didn't get very far.
-Power of pass without target decreased to 90%
-When receiving ball while flying thru the air you immediately lose all remaining jumps and you slow down (only after being boosted by a teammate), to prevent the boosttrick, aka 'witch flying on broomstick thru the map catching ball in midair and scoring'.
-Boostpower on teammates reduced to 80%
-Keeperzones are unnecessary now, the penalty zone is doing exactly the same as the k-zone did before (so keeper in whole pen zone, always).
When you are keeper, leave pen zone, some teammate inside will turn into the keeper, but when the old keeper returns within 5 seconds he will be keeper again.
-Overpowered (and shake-) shots have only 70% power.
-Jumping doesn't remove stamina anymore.
Other:
-Spectator cameras added to all maps; these cameras follow the ball automatically; there are 2-4 in each map (9 in cube); you can toggle between them with Alt Fire, and toggle between player and ball cameras with Fire. Zoom in and out with "forward" and "backward". In the settings under controls you can set key's to select certain cams.
-Using new sound effects for shooting, catching, powering up (thanks to Toxeen).
-Removed startup nvidia pimp map, was so annoying to see it everytime you join.
-Go check the 'controls' tab in the settings menu (only available if you start with
UT2003.exe -mainmenu=deathball.db_mainmenu), you can set certain DB-specific keys.
-Spectators now have a radar (only in camera and player view)
-Bots now stay keeper.
-Stats system changed: no more points, detailed stats for goals, passes, interceptions, volleys etc etc! Players now sorted by join time.
-Added an option to "only allow volley goals" and additionally you can select that self-volley's don't count, which I suggest, because it puts more emphasize on teamwork and egomaniacs can't do anything...(If there is only one player on a team he can do self-volleys tho)
-Added option "Impede ballcarrier". The ball owner can't move when this is on. (Mainly to train volleys and teamwork).
-Time stopped during celebration phase.
-Allow boosting teammates in celeb phase.
-Added DB specific rules to F2 screen and to server window (in server browser), so you know the server settings before you join (if sprint is on, only volleys etc).
-Server UT2k3 version number also shown in the F2 list (and in server browser)
-Added option for practice mode: Goals don't count, it just goes on.
-"Ready" and "Not Ready" is now red and green in scoreboard.
-Sprint and powerup bar are now fading from green to red.
-"redsay" and "bluesay" command added, to talk to a certain team as spectator (if you are a team's coach for example).
-Antispam system added. All bind kids will now be fawked. Saying the same thing (in "say") more than 1 time in 5 seconds will be considered as spam, you get banned from talking for 30 seconds. In teamsay you can spam as much as you want.
-Ball high now showing in BOTH radars and in METERS instead of units. We will make this free configurable, so you can choose between meters, feet and unreal units (or something else you request).
-When you are typing other's now see a speech bubble over your head.
-Added award system to F3, just have a look.
-Added Team comparison to F3, comparing the 2 teams in some points.
-Added a new sound when you catch the ball. Only YOU can hear that one, so you do not any more confuse your catch sound with the one of a player that's right next to you (you know..., he catches it and you think it was you...) Also made ball icon move from middle to its place when you get the ball.
-Changed beacon color of targeted player.
-"Get rid of ball in" sound came too early, now it plays right before the countdown starts, NOT right after you caught the ball
-The whole team now hears the countdown, not only the ballowner
-"Get rid of ball in ..." stuff removed during celebration phase
-Number of remaining multijumps shown in your hud.
-Number of teammate's remaining multijumps shown next to their name.
-configurable lockon radius (it's in the options but was not working)
-Shortname working (use "setshortname " to set it ingame, otherwise use the menu, it supports up to 7 characters, I can't imagine anyone need's more since most people are called with 3 or 4 chars in irc etc.)
-You can now see all spectators by typing "showspectators" in the console, type it again to get back
(OR use a bind for it, can be set in Settings->Controls)
-Distance from which you hear powerup sound lowered
-Post and crossbar hits are counted in the stats
-Removed "welcome to deathball" sound and put it to the startmenu.
-Blue radar objects brighter (can better be seen).
-Keeper code changed: When player 1 is keeper, 2 is in pen zone. 1 leaves pen zone, it takes 3 seconds until 2 becomes keeper. If he is keeper, but 1 joins again before 5 seconds have passed after he left keeper, he will turn into keeper again. (Confusing, eh?)
Maps:
-Added penalty spots to all maps for future use.
-DB-Cube: Redone! Added post and crossbar sound (when ball hits it); added a few antiportals
=>slightly better performance in some situations, Startpoint placement changed, added Scoredboard, Detail settings = don't wonder when you don't see anything in "normal detail" mode, you only get spectators, the scoreboard and all the stuff in higher detail modes. Radar Graphic changed. Added Ad's to it. Posts rounded off, hard to get stuck on em now.
-DB-Lowcube: Other walltexture, ball can fly higher before it gets reset, added some wind sounds, added post and crossbar sound (when ball hits it), Startpoint placement changed, added some environment to the map, added rocks surrounding the pitch (can be turned off by setting details to "normal")

V1.6 Mar/7/2003
Gameplay:
-This is very advanced, only for pr0s:
Sprinting (by default turned off) added. Use the "walk" button to sprint.
In the lower left corner of your hud is a stamina bar, showing how much sprint power you have left.
It's always recharging when you are not sprinting.
You cannot jump during a sprint (could be abused in an awful way).
Jumping also substracts from your stamina. You can still jump with 0 stamina, but you cannot sprint any longer.
-Ball does NOT any longer curve after it bounced off of the wall or after it was volleyed.
-Dead ball (not moving) is now not owned by a team anymore.
-Volleyradii: 290 for friendly ball (same as 1.5), 260 for enemy ball (was 290 in 1.5 but the result was a big spammage)
-Keeper Volley latency lowered from 1.2s to 0.6s
-Keeper Volley radius lowered from 290 to 200
-LAG gone? TNSe:"everything looks a bit smoother now after I found the bug epic added :x"
Other:
-Charge up sound radius lowered to 75%
-Score limit working again (can be blamed on epic and their last patch according to our coders)
-Banana is now an option (off by default)
-Ball no more rotating "like a madman on crack"
Maps:
-Cube now has detail settings. Choose "Normal detail" in your Settings/Details to get a low polycount.
"High detail" will get you all (less than the previous version tho).
V1.5 Feb/26/2003
Gameplay:
-Banana-mode added. Press 'next/previous weapon' 1 time while powering up a shot to bend it right or left. Don't overuse this, only when necessary.
-Shootbug happens less to some people. Same for the 'no damage' bug you have with the hammer sometimes.
-Added a "bug" exec (you can bind to key), that will (in theory) just bounce the ball slightly in front of you so you can pick it up, or give to someone else, then tell everyone on server you had bug... You are only allowed to call bug twice during a connect (after 2 times, you must reconnect).
So just type in 'bug' (without say or teamsay).
-Volley: Ball coming from enemy can now be volleyed with full power (2000) in enemy half, with half power (1000) in own half (as usual).
-Volley range for all players changed: 290 (old 200 [enemy] and 300[friend])
So all have the same volley range.
-Self volley latency removed.
-Takes 0.75secs to regain normal speed after shooting away the ball
-Shieldgun damage angle increased from 60 to 75
-If charge up your shot for less than 30% you will keep the slow ballowner speed for 2.5 seconds (dunno if these 2 values are good, testing required)
-Selfpickup delay of 1.5s
Keeper:
-As long as he is inside penalty box, he's keeper. Once he leaves, next player to enter keeper box becomes keeper.
-Keeper timer extended to penalty zone and whole team.
-Keeper glowing, so its easy to see who is keeping.
-Keeper now jumps as high as he should when he spawns as keeper.
Advantages:
-Keeper moves faster and jumps higher within the entire penaltyzone
-Keeper must move outside the penaltyzone to stop the "Ball held too long counter".
He doesn't become keeper again until he enters Keeperzone again, which means trying to abuse this timer is a big risk.
Disadvantages:
-Solo attackers have to deal with an invulnerable & fast keeper in a much larger area. Other:
-Radar now fixed for ball and players that cannot be seen (like players behind a wall in DB-Chill).
-Changed beacon text, no more problems to read a name.
-Added m/s (speed) to scoring text. So you can see how fast your shot was.
-Added a text to the scoring when you volley.
-Overtime works now (ended when someone got fragged).
-If someone is kicked for idling whilst holding the ball, the ball gets lost, this is fixed.
-Chargeup sound radius for other players increased
-New hud logos.
-Middle Radar can now be zoomed. The commands are "RadarRadiusIncrease" and "RadarRadiusDecrease" (Anthrax = happy now)
-Passing spree should work correctly now.
-Time of goal shown in HUD when scored
-Ballcarrier shown in HUD
-Removed voicepacks/welcome message (this prevents lag when someone joins a server and server crashes)
-Names in Beacons shortened to 10 characters
-Using skyblue for "carrier" and "keeper" name in lower left corner, so its readable now.
-Option added that shortens the Waittime after a goal to 5 seconds .
-Bounced balls are now considered as volleys. Points:
-2 points for interception
-2 points for volley interception in own half
-The last guy in the assist chain gets 3 extra points if the goal was volleyed. (5 total)
-5 points for volley scorer
-substract 2 points for a pass to the enemy
-Volley save for keeper gives him points too now
-You never get any kills for any frags any more, instead:
-You get +1 point for hitting enemy ballowner
-You get +2 points from hitting enemy ballowner in own half
-You get +4 points for killing enemy in own penalty zone
-Keeper gets 6 points for killing ballowner
Maps:
-DB-LowCube added, a low poly Cube version, so all low performances dudes can play it.
-DB-Cube fixed. The blue penalty zone was 32 units larger on the right side. New croud sounds added, keeper zones higher.
Buildings around the stadium added.
-DB-Smallcube, wall higher.
-DB-November, to be honest...I have no clue what's new. Ben sent me a new version and I had no chance to ask him and I didn't find it out either.
V1.4b Jan/4/2002
Gameplay:
-Shaking time reduced to 0.7 seconds (1.3s before)
-Shaking intensity reduced to half.
-Overpowered shots don't go that far off (12-20 degrees instead of 20-40)
-Passing fixed (due to a bug, passing was weaker in 1.4, this was not intended).
Now it's even a bit stronger than in 1.3. (x1.35 in 1.3b; x1 in 1.4; x1.45 in 1.4b).
-Shoot cancel removed, it was causing more problems than helping the player.
Other:
-"Screech" sound when scoring is back (dunno why it was gone).
-Overtime fixed.
-Overtime /w Golden Goal fixed.
-Player trails after goal: Red trail pending between red and yellow, blue trail between blue and white. So they look hot and cold instead of........ghey.

V1.4 Jan/1/2002
General:
-New menu, this requires to add "-mainmenu=deathball.db_mainmenu" to your UT2k3 link....like: C:\UT2003\System\UT2003.exe -mainmenu=deathball.db_mainmenu
-Version number now shown in top right corner in menu
-Removed "Singleplayer" from menu, renamed 'instant action' to botmatch (more fitting)
-DB maps showing in background instead of UT2k3 maps.
Gameplay:
-Volley: Enemy volley latency lowered from 0.6s to 0.5s
-Volley: Enemy volley power increased from 800 to 1000
-Volley: Dead Ball volley power increased from 1500 to 2000.
-Enemy pickup latency lowered from 0.6s to 0.55s
-Now you need to HOLD 2nd fire to enable the 'pass me' mode. It's on as long as you hold the button.
-Holding down 2nd fire now makes the ball bounce off of you (so you don't pick it up).
This can be used to do a volley pass (if normall volley kick is too hard) and to do some special moves (bounce it up a bit, then volley it).
-If someone shoots the ball at you, in the first 0.2 seconds it will bounce off of you. You can't catch it.
This doesn not count for keepers, they always catch it... (might not work sometimes).
-Keeper can now always dodge (keeper had to leave and reenter the keeper zone if he was spawned inside).
-Keeper can now only do a double jump (no more dodge+3jumps across the half pitch).
-The keeper sometimes could be killed and could not dodge, this should be fixed.
-Now you can double (tripple/quad) -jump whenever you want to. Also when you are falling down.
In UT2k3 you could only do it until you reached the highest point of your jump, timing was a bit too difficult.
-When you get kicked as ballowner you are now shaken for 1.3s, when you shoot at this time the shot will get distracted (like an overpowered shot), but a targeted pass will work. (Was added so a defender can now always win a 1on1, it used to be unfair, and the defender had no chance)
-Overpowered shot now more inaccurate (it was -30°..30°; now its (-40°)...(-20°) & (20°)...(40°)... in the end it means, that there is no more chance that an overload shot is accurate...)
-You can now cancel shots and passes. Bit difficult, you gotta get used to it.
To cancel, just press the other fire key (depends on if you use 1st and 2nd fire), then release them in the order you pressed them at first. Toy around with it, then you'll understand.
Other stuff:
-New voice packs added for all models!
-New game ending options.
-How should the game end if equal score at full time? (Depending on Time Limit)
1.Ends in Tie.
2.Overtime (minutes can be configured), after that tie.
3.Golden Goal (next goal wins).
4.Overtime and Golden Goal (if still tied after extra time -> golden goal).
(You gotta set the overtime length for 2. and 4.)
2 goal victory! (Depending on goal limit). If the limit is 10 you cant win 10:9....you need 2 more goals than your enemy.
-Idler-kick script. When a player doesn't move his mouse for 40 seconds (default, can be configured) he/she will be kicked.
Also players you just don't go "ready" will be kicked. This is to improve FFA playing.
-Thanks to 2166 F2 now gets you the server rules.
-Points: Assist chain shortened to 2 people. (last pass gets 2 points, 2nd last 1 point; and the scorer can now also get an assist point if part of the chain; and you cannot any more pass to yourself to get extra points)
-Points: Killing ballowner in own half gets you 3 instead of 2 points.
-Goals after match ended don't count any more! This could be abused.
-Spectator: Fireworks bug fixed (sometimes they were always on).
-Spectator: Goal music looping forever fixed.
-Added possesions in % to scoreboard (F1). No points for this, just a lil' gimmick.
-When both teams only need one more goal to win the game the announcer sez 'golden goal'.
-The "2 owngoals more than normal goals kick you" thing now is an option! (and the number can be configured)
-Keepers now highlighted in Scoreboard (it sez "Keeper").
-Enemy location now also shown in Scoreboard.
-Funky (some may call it gay) trail effect after goal.
-Trails (ball, player) now always work.
-After goal of own team, the keeper should now be as fast as the other players, and after shooting the ball you should get back full speed too.
-Improved the trail of the ball (thanks Catalyst)
-When someone is typing you see "..." blinking at his beacon.
-Scoreboard: FPH (frags per hour) was replaced with PPM (points per minute)

-DB-Curve by Tonnberry, Radar darker, keeper zone now extending over goal. You can no more enter the part behind the enemy goal. No more camping on the grid above the goal.

V1.3b Nov/28/2002
-Player gets kickbanned from server if he scores 2 more owngoals than goals. Ban lasts until map changes or restarts.
-Enemy volley latency fixed again (got screwed in 1.3 due to a last minute change).
-Enemy volley radius lowered from 235 to 200.
-Enemy volley power lowered from 1500 to 800 (all these changes should avoid the volley spamming).
-Dead ball volley power from 2000 to 1500.

Second last = 2 points
Third last = 1
Scorer still gets 3 points for goal.
-You get a passing spree after 7 successfull passes in a row (no extra points for that, otherwise people would be passing all day).
-Ball CollisionRadius lowered from 12 to 10 units.
-You can no longer keep 2nd fire pressed at the end out a round to keep the ball until the next round.
-Double (triple) pass bug is fixed (those who found it will know what I mean).
-Greeting sound playing ("Welcome to Deathball")
